...I myself was Rama... (Lord Buddha reveals in
Dasaratha Jataka)
Buddha's Rama Mantra:
Dasa vassasahassaani, satthi
“ vassasataani
ca;
kambugivo mahabahu, raamo rajjamakaraayi”ti.–
Years sixty times a hundred, and ten thousand
more, all told,
Reigned strong armed Rama, on his neck the luck triple fold.”2
Siddhartha was born in the lineage of the sun :
"Straight ahead, your majesty, by the foothills of the Himalayas, is a country consummate in energy & wealth, inhabited by Kosalans: Solar by clan, Sakyans by birth. From that lineage
I have gone forth, but not in search of sensual pleasures. Seeing the danger in sensual pleasures — and renunciation
as rest — I go to strive. That's where my heart delights."

The Going Forth
He is Aditya (solar) by Gotra and Sakyan by birth. From that family, I have gone forth, not desiring sensual pleasures.
Rama in the Dasharatha Jataka is portrayed as a supremely self controlled figure, with
all comprehending wisdom and gives a Dharma talk on impermanence or anityata. He is as still as a figure of gold.
